A Message from Sol Ronda Gumapac
The Heart of the Movement
The Braveward Project was born from the hardest chapter of my life. Not long ago, financial instability cost me everything. Because I lacked the resources and a support system to fight, I lost my child in a custody battle. Today, he is gone from my life.
I know the suffocating weight of being isolated, broke, and silenced by a system that doesn't provide a "ward"—a shield—for those who are struggling. I decided that the isolation I felt would be the last of its kind.
Through the Bahandaya Movement, I am turning my pain into a sanctuary for others. This is more than a single community event; it is a vision for inclusive experiences and cultural gatherings that celebrate our Bahandi (ancestral treasures) and the practice of Aya (the grace of abundance).
My commitment is to ensure that "grace" is a verb, not just a word. Whether we are bringing together 5,000 people for a fiesta or hosting intimate community circles, every event I organize serves a deeper purpose: funding the mission of provide housing and food for our unhoused neighbors.
I’m not just an event organizer. I’m a mother and a survivor who decided that when a community stands together, no one has to be invisible.
MOVING FORWARD WITH COURAGE.
The Braveward Project is a community-centered movement dedicated to empowering individuals to rebuild their lives with resilience and hope.
Our Story
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. We exist to support those navigating life’s most difficult transitions—whether caused by trauma, displacement, systemic barriers, abuse, loss, or personal hardship.
We believe healing is not meant to happen alone. Through community connection, advocacy, education, and creative programs, we create safe spaces where people are seen, heard, and supported as they manifest their new future.
